Romp in the Swamp

Dayton X successfully made the recent trek to Chattanooga, Tennessee. The team was compromised of a handful veterans (including Dan Simon, Erik Krissek, Jeff Giese, Joe Bayer, Joe Pastor, Mark Anderson, and Dave Hayson).

The crew was finished with a mouthwatering crop of fresh Ghetto talent. Completing the squad Ghetto brought a slew of new first year players, both of freshmen and sophomore status.

Though the final weekend record was not necessarily wowing (2-5), the purpose of the trip went far beyond the win/loss column. The goal was to get new players plenty of on field time, with the assistance of some crafty, and in two cases, downright malicious veterans.

With wins over West Virginia and Georgia-D, the unusual make up of lines didn't hold back the talented squad. Furthermore, the Dayton X crew managed to take several games to universe point, and even more within 3 points. Overall, not only did new players get a wealth of playing time, they also proved their off-season workouts and training to have been worthwhile.

Beyond the new players, many veterans took full advantage of this opportunity. As a chance to brush off the dust before the Winter in the Ghetto Invite, many returners showed the Ghetto noobs, just what was up.

Breaking out the pwn-stick, and leading the death march were Jeff Giese and Dan Simon. Combining on the weekend for 17 total d's (the rest of the team had a combined 24), Kid Ic and Danager the Manager took out a frat size paddle and officially rushed unexpecting opponents to create their first Noob Pledge class of 2008. From layouts to skys, the duo packed a seasons worth of destruction into two days....Bill MacQueen need not apply, these two had a fever, and the only prescription was more fantasy points.

Overall, the weekend only took one casualty (Alex Frasz, twisted ankle) and provided a showcase for the outstanding growth of Ghetto Force. Having a competitive squad made of predominantly first year players only further demonstrates the unyielding crop of out of control Dayton talent. This year is primed for success.
