Great Lakes Regionals is this weekend April 1st and 2nd in Bloomington, IN. The tournament will be hosted by Indiana University's Hoosermamas. Brackets are posted with seeding as follows:
Ghetto received a full page spread in the Tuesday April 13th printing of Flyer News. The article focuses on the physical and fast paced nature of the sport, and the high level of competition in ultimate.
Upon finishing 5-0 saturday Ghetto was told by the crack tournament director, Trish, that games would be starting at 10:45. With this in mind Ghetto made the drive back to Dayton, agreeing to arrive at the fields 9:45 the next morning. All was well until our genius TD called at 9:00pm to inform us that we would now be playing at 9:00am instead of 10:45am, apparently she screw-up the schedule... one of many TD screw-ups occurring throughout the weekend. Needless to say, we gave her a piece of our minds, continuing until she hung up on us.

Its difficult to tell whether Kenyon, West Virginia, Oberlin, and Ohio Wesleyan played 10 UPA eligible games because their schedules are not labeled properly. A big thank you to the following teams for participating in 10 UPA eligible games prior to sectionals: OSU, Ohio, Dayton, Xavier, Cincinnati, Toledo, Case Western Reserve, and Kent State.

Phil and Fraszel Dazzle launched into Oberlin like a fighter jet breaking the sound barrier, while Sex panther and Wind Resistance ate a bunch of Wendy's on the sideline. A shout out to Z Knight who manned the clipboard all weekend recording scores, stats, and game times. Z recorded the start of the 5th place game at 2:15 pm when the horn sounded and 1 hour and 25 minutes later no soft-cap horn had been heard. Z notified us of the situation and we notified Oberlin that soft-cap should have gone off during the point. Ghetto's bused and battered bodies took an 11-7 lead on Oberlin when soft-cap went off. Now the game would be capped at 13. Ghetto scored another goal while Oberlin scored twice more, and just after the hard-cap horn should have sounded Oberlin scored again. Again, no horn or notification from the tournament director, Trish (the dumb-ass). It was 3:52 when the point ended and again we notified Oberlin that the hard-cap should have taken effect at 3:50. This would mean that the score after applying hard-cap was 12-10, and a victory for ghetto. A
n argument ensued as to whether the we had to wait for the horn to call the caps or if the caps were set based on the time the game started. Of course we all know that the caps are applied in accordance with time, and are not effected by whether the TD blows the horn or not. After speaking with the TD it was determined that she forgot to blow the horns... great work TD.

Addison began his Ultimate career freshman year as a young enthusiastic Baseball player, and four years later had transitioned into a precision handler. Among Addison's greatest qualities were his accuracy, decision making abilities, and team orientation. It turns out that Ultimate runs in the Hoover gene line, as his father competed in College Nationals in the late 70's. In addition to being a leader of Ghetto Force, Addison was instrumental in the creation of Dayton's premier club team "Enigma" soon to enter its third season. Good luck Addison, you will be missed!
mother-F'er. Beneath his burly Al Borland beard, flannel shirts, and charitable personality lies one of the fastest, most agile, and competitive players in Ghetto's history. Mark graduated in May of 2009 after five years at the University of Dayton, four of which he filled with ultimate. Unfortunately, Mark was not able to compete in Regionals due to a sever sprained ankle suffered in the championship game against OSU at sectionals. Mark could have been an all region player and could have played at any school in the country and we are fortunate to have had him. He could chase down any disc, or defend any player. Mark you will always be "The Show."
turned out the domination was not as severe as hopped. The East Plains Section once again received little respect in the tournament seeding. One might expect the first place teams from each Section would receive the top three spots, and second place would receive the next 3 or at least one of the next 5 spots. No, after finishing second in its section Ghetto received the glorious position of 9th seed.

marathon. Sectionals consisted of 6 pool play games before reseeding into a championship bracket of four teams. Ghetto's 15 man roster left little room for rest or injury, but was up for the challenge after a winter full of 5 day-a-week workouts. Ghetto has never been in better shape. With the exception of Louisville, who was disqualified for non-rostered players who do not attend Louisville, competition in pool B was sparse. Ghetto rolled through pool B.
